Anthropic ships ten finance agents into M365.

Anthropic ships ten ready-to-run finance agents into Microsoft 365 with cross-app context. OpenAI's parallel push runs through PwC. Both labs are going consulting.

Hi folks,

Anthropic shipped ten finance-agent templates on 5 May, plugged into Microsoft 365 with cross-app context. Same week, OpenAI announced a parallel finance push via PwC. Both are signal.

The one thing

Anthropic shipped ten ready-to-run finance agents into the apps your analysts already use.

  • Ten templates on Claude Opus 4.7: Pitch Builder, Meeting Preparer, Earnings Reviewer, Model Builder, Market Researcher, Valuation Reviewer, GL Reconciler, Month-End Closer, Statement Auditor, KYC Screener. (Anthropic)
  • Plugged into Claude Cowork, Claude Code and Microsoft 365 add-ins with cross-app context (Excel, PowerPoint, Word GA; Outlook beta). Moody's ships as a first-party connector covering 600M+ companies, alongside D&B, Verisk and Third Bridge.
  • Named launch customers include Goldman, JPMorgan, Citi, Citadel and Carlyle. Goldman CIO Marco Argenti: "This is the first time that instead of buying infrastructure, you can actually buy intelligence." (Fortune)

What this means in plain terms.

  • Six of the ten templates map directly to AU mid-market alternatives workflow. The other four target fund admin work (general ledger, month-end close, statement audit, KYC), so your back-office cycle should get faster.
  • The M365 add-ins sit alongside Copilot in the same surfaces. For funds already on Microsoft, integration just got materially easier: Claude lives inside Excel, PowerPoint and Word without a separate tooling rollout.
  • The work the agents don't ship, integration, rubric design, human review, is where the actual lift sits. Anthropic itself says users must "stay firmly in the loop" before any output ships. (The Register)

In the mix

  • Both labs appear to be launching consulting arms. Same week as the finance-agents launch, Anthropic announced a US$1.5B enterprise-services JV with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs. OpenAI's parallel finance push runs through PwC. Every "buy intelligence" pitch now arrives wrapped in a consulting bill. (TechCrunch, PYMNTS)
  • FIS shipped a Financial Crimes AI Agent with Anthropic for AML. Targeted GA H2 2026. AU fund admins on similar SaaS rails will see equivalent agents bolted on within the year. (FIS)

From our week

  • Levercon is officially live at levercon.ai.
  • Next week is the test week. Five one-day experiments on the new agents against AU mid-market private credit and PE inputs: Pitch Builder, Market Researcher, Model Builder, Earnings Reviewer, then a tuned cookbook build. Headline metric: hours of rework before output ships. Numbers next issue.
